Dartboard Lights

Dartboard Lights are an interesting addition to any dartboard. They provide extra target points, allowing for more scoring combinations and thus by extension more strategizing.

Ideal Dartboard Lights are usually color-coded according to the tournament standards, being green(75), blue(50) red(25) yellow(5). The colors are then used as additional scores that can be counted in addition to the regular scores, thus providing a service to the players.

As an additional note, darts that hit outside of the dartboard light sections can still score depending on where they land. For example, if a dart hits right around the bullseye and lights up green for 75 points but then falls into the 20-point section, it would actually score as a 35.

While most prefer to use LED lights nowadays because of their convenience and quality, they do tend to involve higher costs than other forms. They are not usually found in bars or pubs due to this reason, though there are some exceptions where bar owners have opted to install them for better lighting overall or for more of a visual appeal.

These dartboard lights were invented in the 1980s but used to use incandescent lighting. After the invention of LED, improved dartboard lights were easier to install and do not run hot like their predecessors. Since they’re attached on the outside of the board, they can also be taken off relatively easily for cleaning.

The downside to LED lights is that, although they last a very long time, they can be quite bright and may not be suitable for all surroundings. They are often used in professional tournaments or other settings where bright light is advantageous. In a home setting, they may be too harsh and create too much glare. If you have an LED light on your board, you may need to reposition your dartboard so that it is not so close to where you are sitting.

Incandescent lights are generally no longer recommended. They’re also very dim, which makes it difficult to see the darts in flight. However, because they are not extremely bright, these lights may be preferable in some settings.

Halogen lights

Halogen lights are the most widely used type of lighting for dartboards. They create a very bright light, making it easy to see what’s happening in mid-flight. Although these lights provide the best visibility, they can also be difficult or inconvenient for your eyes because of their direct glare and brightness.

If you are looking for a more energy-efficient option, LED lights might be the best choice for you. They last a long time and use very little energy, but they may not be as bright as halogen lights.

Where should a dartboard light be placed?

There is no definitive answer to this question. It depends on the size and shape of your dartboard, as well as the location of the light fixture. In general, you will want to place the light fixture somewhere above and behind the dartboard. This will help to illuminate the entire board and minimize shadows.

If you are interested in setting up a traditional dartboard, but you have never done it before, there are a few things that you should know.

The first thing that you need to do is decide where the darts will be placed. The most common place for darts is on the wall right above your fireplace or some other type of brick structure. Most people like to put the darts above their fireplace because it is a central location and they can easily entertain all of their guests.

The second thing that you need to do is find an electrician who will come and install your dartboard lights for you. There are many different types of wall lighting options available, including under-cabinet lighting and track lighting. Track lighting will give you the most flexibility, but it might be out of your price range.

You need to decide what type of switch you would like for your dartboard lights. A simple on and off option is common, but many people go with a more complex system where they can dim or brighten the lights. You will also have the option of choosing between track lights and spotlights. There are also some more unusual options, such as lighted dartboards that have LED lights right in the board itself.

Finally, you need to choose a design for your darts installation. You can opt to have all of your lighting installed directly next to your board or you can have them installed on the wall behind the board. This is a matter of personal choice and you can choose a design that goes along with your board’s color scheme to really bring everything together.

You should also plan for how much electricity your dartboard lighting will need. Most options will have similar wattage requirements, so this isn’t going to be a major concern. However, make sure you have enough outlets to support all of your new lighting!

Dartboard lights are a great way to improve your darting experience. Not only do they provide a more professional look to your set-up, but they also help you see the board better in low light conditions.

No matter what type of light you choose for your dartboard, make sure to position it in such a way that it does not create any glare on the screen. This will make it easier to see the dartboard and improve your accuracy.

And there you have it – everything you need to know about dartboard lights!
